Toddler Amazement at Baltimore National Aquarium

Baltimore National Aquarium, a set on Flickr.

Well, my wife was right.  She’s been trying to get us up to Baltimore’s  National Aquarium for some time now, and we finally went last weekend.   It was great – just the right speed for a 19-month-old.  Unlike the zoo, where you sometimes have to really look HARD to find the monkey/lion/gorilla/whatever that is in the cage, at the aquarium about 80% of the exhibits had the fishes right there front-and-center for you to see, and even had little steps so that munchkins my daughter’s size could step up and see in.

As you can see here, it was full-on amazement:

Due to how easy it was for my daughter to see each of the fishes and get interested in them, and then move on to the next one – the aquarium had her full attention for about two hours, until she finally ran out of gas.  Absolutely a great way to spend an afternoon.
