Happy Mommies, Happily Breastfeeding

Happy Mommies, originally uploaded by tadnkat.

It’s now the second September since my wife and I came to Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, and with our 2-month-old baby Mackenzie, scaled up Maryland Heights overlooking the Shenandoah/Potomac confluence, and took the photo which you’ll now find on the October page of the 2011 Breastfeeding Calendar.

To commemorate that, and to bring another friend & Scientology parent out to enjoy the beginning of the changing of the leaves, we spent a great afternoon this weekend hiking around the town and exploring Harpers Ferry with our two similarly-aged sons, as well as my now 2-year-old girl.

I thought it a fitting image to follow up on my earlier post on breastfeeding vs. formula feeding, as both mommies here are quite obviously still going strong breastfeeding our 8-month-olds and doing fantastic with it.

Here’s a slideshow from the rest of our outing:

  1. I love these pictures! They say a lot for the quality of affinity that is being demonstrated between the parents and children of both sets of parents. How fun for me to watch and it is certainly a great endorsement for breast feeding mothers create happy babies
